About the role:

 

The Customer Connection Portfolio Lead manages Transgrid’s customer connections portfolio across the NSW/ACT transmission network, from initial enquiry and Connection Project Agreement through to application, proposal and execution.

 

Working within Customer Enablement and Connections, the role ensures the portfolio is actively planned, prioritised and progressed to deliver a seamless, commercially sound customer experience while meeting Transgrid’s obligations under the National Electricity Rules.

 

The role develops customer strategies aligned to customer needs and network priorities and coordinates internal investment approvals to progress connection proposals and commitments. It applies commercial, financial and technical insight to support pricing, prioritisation and risk assessment, optimising value for Transgrid and its customers.

 

Working closely with connections planning, proposal and network teams, the role drives continuous improvement of the connection’s framework, tools and processes, and provides analysis and reporting to support informed decision-making.

 

What you’ll do:

 

  • Manage Transgrid’s portfolio of customer connection projects across the NSW/ACT transmission network, overseeing progress from initial enquiry and Connection Project Agreement through to connection proposal, approval and execution.
  • Develop and maintain customer connection strategies that balance customer requirements with network priorities, ensuring connections are planned, prioritised and delivered in line with business objectives and regulatory obligations.
  • Lead the coordination of internal investment approvals and commercial assessments, applying financial, technical and risk-based insights to support pricing, prioritisation and decision-making.
  • Partner with connections planning, proposal and network teams to progress connection opportunities, resolve barriers and deliver a seamless, customer-focused connections experience.
  • Drive continuous improvement across connection frameworks, processes, tools and reporting, providing portfolio insights and performance analysis to support informed, evidence-based decisions.
  • Leverage customer data, insight and feedback to inform and influence business improvement strategies related to customer service.

 

What you’ll bring:

 

  • Tertiary qualifications at degree level in an appropriate discipline (such as engineering, business or commerce), or equivalent relevant experience.
  • Ability to manage portfolios of projects, proposals and customer relationships, balancing competing priorities while delivering to agreed service levels.
  • Demonstrated capability in developing, negotiating and managing energy infrastructure and service proposals, including connection agreements.
  • Ability to prepare business cases and progress internal investment approvals within established governance frameworks.
  • Track record of improving processes and procedures to enhance customer and business outcomes.
  • Strong capability in ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Sound understanding of the National Electricity Rules relating to network connections, supported by working knowledge of the electricity industry and transmission network connections and service.
