The Opportunity

As a Transmission Lineworker, you will play a vital role and be responsible for the inspection, maintenance, repairs and construction of transmission line assets across our transmission network. You'll provide technical expertise to ensure our critical infrastructure meets customer expectations and reliability standards.

 

Whether responding to emergency incidents, managing scheduled maintenance, or delivering major construction projects, you’ll be part of a team that puts safety, teamwork, and technical excellence at the forefront of everything we do.

 

What You’ll Do

You’ll install, maintain and repair transmission line assets, carrying out inspections and identifying any condition concerns. You’ll prepare safe work methods and safety documentation, mentor apprentices and junior technicians, and step into a crew leader role when needed. In addition, you’ll work closely with Field Coordinators and Site Managers to ensure safe, efficient and well‑coordinated delivery of all work.

 

What We’re Looking For

Essential

  • Certificate III in ESI - Power Systems – Transmission and/or Distribution Overhead  
  • Flexibility to support on call/afterhours requests and respond to system incidents
  • A current Australian Driver’s License
  • Understanding of the inspection, maintenance and construction requirements associated with transmission line infrastructure

Desirable

  • High Risk Work Licences, including:
    • DG (Dogging)
    • RB, RI, RA (Rigging Basic, Intermediate, Advanced)
    • CV, C2, C6 (Crane-Vehicle Loading, 20T, 60T)
    • WP (Elevated Work Platform)
    • LF (Forklift)
  • Heavy Rigid Driver’s Licence (preferred but not essential)
  • Experience in high‑voltage maintenance (e.g., pole replacement, insulator changeouts, hot joint repair)
