Transmission Line Design Engineer

The Opportunity 

In your role as a Transmission Line Design Engineer, you will provide technical expertise in the design and delivery of maintenance transmission line projects.

This will be a regional based role in Wagga Wagga assisting firsthand with reactive maintenance design requests. You will lead engineering activities including PLS-CADD modelling, design assessments, reports, drawings, and specifications while supporting maintenance teams and technical standards. 

This is an opportunity to deliver high-quality engineering solutions and influence the future of transmission networks.

What You’ll Do

• Perform, review, and approve transmission line and cable designs in compliance with Australian/IEC standards and Transgrid technical requirements.
• Ensure all designs approved for construction meet relevant legislation, standards, policies, and procedures.
• Investigate and implement innovative design solutions to meet evolving business and project needs.
• Incorporate Safety in Design (SiD) principles into all design work.

About You

• Degree Qualification in Electrical, Civil, Structural, Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline.
• Proven experience in the functional layout design of transmission lines and/or cables, with specialised expertise in relevant technical processes and procedures.
• Strong working knowledge of Australian and International Standards and Codes of Practice related to transmission line and cable design.
• Proficient in PLS-CADD, PLS-POLE and PLS-TOWER, with experience, ProjectWise, MicroStation, and other design tools.
