The Opportunity
As a Substation Control Technician you will provide a high-level site commissioning in relation to SCADA Remote Technical Units, Substation Controls, Special Protection Schemes, Complex Plant (SVCs, Synchronous Condensers) and Data Networks.
You will be competent with testing and commissioning of Substation Control Systems for new installations and augmentation of Substation Control Systems for existing Substations. You will have experience in developing processes and procedures in relation to the installation, commissioning and maintenance of SCADA Remote Terminal Units, Substation Controls, Special Protection Schemes, Complex Plant and Data Networks.
Your solid project management skills will assist you in project managing asset replacement of SCADA Remote Terminal Units and Substation Control Systems whilst perform design work associated with minor modifications to SCADA Remote Terminal Units and Substation Controls.
About You
- Engineering Certificate/Associate Diploma or equivalent
- Familiarity with SAA wiring rules and other relevant Australian Standards
- Sound knowledge of SCADA, Local Area Networks, SCADA Outstations and Microprocessor Control Systems
- Proficiency in the preparation and review of policies, strategies and procedures
- Demonstrated experience with the Installation and Maintenance of SCADA RTU’s and Substation Control Systems
