About The Role

Step into a pivotal leadership role where technology meets purpose. As Transgrid’s Technical Lead in Azure, you will architect, evolve, and champion the enterprise Azure platform that underpins one of Australia’s most critical infrastructure networks.

You will design the strategy, build the foundations, and drive the engineering excellence that empowers our teams to innovate safely and sustainably in the cloud. This is your chance to create a secure, automated, and future-ready platform that supports the nation’s transition to clean energy.

What You Will Be Doing 

• Lead the strategy, design, and evolution of Transgrid’s enterprise Azure platform
• Architect cloud foundations and guardrails that balance agility, security, and cost efficiency
• Oversee the deployment of core Azure services including compute, storage, networking, and identity
• Champion Infrastructure as Code (IaC) and DevOps automation using tools such as Terraform and Azure DevOps
• Drive continuous improvement through data-driven insights and platform adoption metrics
• Embed best practices in governance, compliance, and policy-as-code frameworks such as ISO 27001, NIST, and SOC 2
• Mentor engineers, influence stakeholders, and build a culture of engineering excellence

About You

You are a hands-on strategist, equally comfortable setting vision and getting into the technical detail. You bring:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer science, Information Technology, or a related discipline.
• Microsoft certifications such as Azure Solutions Architect Expert or DevOps Engineer Expert
• 7+ years in cloud or infrastructure engineering, including leading platform or transformation initiatives
• A strong product mindset with a focus on roadmaps, self-service enablement, and measurable outcomes
• Excellent communication and leadership skills with the ability to inspire collaboration and change
