In support of our Clean Energy Strategy, we are expanding our capabilities to ensure the timely and efficient delivery of this once-in-a-generation project pipeline.

About the Role

As Technical Services Director, you will guide technical decision-making across the Major Projects portfolio, acting as a key interface between internal stakeholders, engineering design teams, and delivery partners. You’ll ensure that technical constraints are identified and resolved early to support smarter, more cost-effective project outcomes.

With a strong focus on long linear infrastructure particularly transmission lines you’ll bring a blend of technical depth, commercial acumen, and strategic foresight to the role. Drawing on insights and experience from other major projects, you’ll shape technical strategy, drive innovation, and lead with influence across the business.

About You 

• Lead collaboration between internal teams, consultants, and delivery partners to manage technical constraints early and support effective project delivery
• Champion innovation and embed technologies that enhance constructability, accelerate build times, and reduce project costs
• Shadow contractors in pre-construction phases to identify and resolve challenges before formal engagement, ensuring seamless delivery readiness
• Work closely with the PMO, Estimating Director and Commercial teams to deliver cost-effective, technically robust solutions
• Establish a Centre of Excellence by capturing internal knowledge, promoting best practice, and supporting continuous learning across Major Projects.
