About the role
As the Technical Director for the Hunter Transmission Project, you will provide senior technical leadership across all engineering, design, and assurance activities to support the safe and successful delivery of this major infrastructure program. Reporting to the HTP Program Director, the role is responsible for setting and governing technical standards, overseeing design quality and assurance, managing complex interfaces, and ensuring compliance with regulatory and contractual requirements. Acting as the senior escalation point for complex technical issues, you will drive engineering integration, proactively manage technical risk, and work closely with delivery partners and internal teams to ensure outcomes aligned to safety, quality, constructability, and long-term asset performance.
About you
- Extensive experience in senior technical or engineering leadership roles within large-scale infrastructure or energy projects
- Proven expertise in engineering design management, technical assurance, and compliance with regulatory and asset standards
- Strong people leadership capability, with experience leading and developing multidisciplinary, diverse technical teams
- Demonstrated ability to manage complex technical interfaces, risks, and stakeholder relationships
- Demonstrated experience applying specialist skills on major infrastructure projects with a strong preference for those exceeding $500m in value.
- A collaborative and strategic leader with a strong commitment to safety, quality, and continuous improvement.
