The Opportunity

 

As Team Leader - Control System Design you will lead a team in the delivery of control system designs to support Transgrid’s projects, network operations, and asset maintenance.

 

The role oversees the delivery of designs, provides specialist technical advice, develops design standards, and ensures high-quality outcomes through both internal teams and external design partners.

 

What You’ll Do

 

  • Lead and manage control system design activities across prescribed and non-prescribed projects, ensuring technical accuracy, quality, and timely delivery.
  • Oversee a team of control system design experts, ensuring compliance with standards, effective collaboration with stakeholders, and continuous improvement in design quality and performance.
  • Ensure design quality through reviews, tender evaluations, and stakeholder coordination.

 

About You

 

  • Degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent with proven experience leading and managing technical teams.
  • Strong knowledge of substation control and LV distribution design, preferably within transmission, distribution, or generation sectors.
  • Familiarity with Safety in Design principles and relevant Australian and international standards for control and LV systems.
  • Extensive experience in developing, reviewing, and approving project designs, including coordination with external consultants.
  • Proficient in engineering systems such as EDMS and experienced with design quality assurance processes.
