Talent Acquisition and Sourcing Advisor
Date: 16 Jun 2026
Location: Sydney, NSW, Australia
Company: TransGrid

At Transgrid, we play a crucial role in delivering safe, reliable and sustainable energy to millions of Australians. Operating over 13,000 km of high-voltage transmission lines and 128 substations across NSW and the ACT, we connect electricity generators to the distribution network, powering homes, businesses and communities.
The Opportunity | Talent & Sourcing Advisor
Join our Talent Acquisition team and help build the workforce delivering and enabling some of Australia’s most important energy infrastructure.
Based in Ultimo, you will partner with broad and geographically diverse stakeholder groups. Your portfolio will primarily support our Delivery business, with the flexibility to contribute across other areas as organisational priorities evolve. This will give you exposure to professional, project, technical, operational, enabling and support functions and regional field-based recruitment.
This is a hands-on, high-volume role with genuine autonomy and visibility. You will manage a varied portfolio of active requisitions from initial briefing and workforce scoping through to proactive sourcing, assessment, remuneration recommendations, negotiation and onboarding. You will also contribute to targeted cohort hiring campaigns and broader workforce initiatives. More than posting roles and processing applications, you will operate as a trusted adviser to leaders. You will bring market insight, challenge constructively and provide clear, practical options that support informed hiring decisions.
An immediate start is available, with flexible hybrid working that balances team connection, business needs and individual circumstances. You will also join Talent Acquisition at an exciting point in its evolution, with exposure to new tools, system implementation and improvements to how recruitment is delivered.
A Day in the Life
No two days will look the same. You might begin by briefing a leader on a critical vacancy, move into candidate calibration and targeted sourcing, then finish by negotiating an offer or planning the next stage of a workforce campaign.
You will have the autonomy to manage your work, supported by a collaborative Talent Acquisition team and the broader People & Culture team.
In this role, you will:
- Lead end-to-end recruitment across professional, project, technical, operational, enabling support functions and field-based roles
- Advise leaders on workforce requirements, sourcing, selection, remuneration, internal equity and hiring decisions
- Identify and engage talent through proactive search, direct sourcing, market mapping and pipeline development
- Manage candidate screening, shortlisting, selection, offer negotiation and onboarding support
- Contribute to scalable recruitment campaigns, evolving recruitment technology and broader P&C initiatives
Why This Role Matters
Every appointment strengthens the workforce that operates, supports and delivers Transgrid’s critical energy network. Whether recruiting the people delivering projects or the specialist functions enabling their success, you will help build the capability Transgrid needs to support Australia’s energy transition and the communities and regions our network serves.
About You
You are an experienced recruiter who thrives in a growth environment and can balance volume, complexity and competing priorities. You may come from an in-house Talent Acquisition team or a recruitment agency, but you will bring strong end-to-end capability and the confidence to take ownership.
You are also a critical thinker who works through problems logically and provides leaders with clear, considered recommendations. You understand that effective recruitment is about more than advertising. You know how to uncover talent, engage the market and build trusted relationships with candidates and leaders.
You will bring:
- Experience managing professional and/or high-volume recruitment from initial briefing through to onboarding
- Strong stakeholder management skills across senior, operational and geographically dispersed groups
- Proven capability in proactive sourcing, candidate engagement and talent pipeline development
- Sound judgement across assessment, selection, remuneration recommendations and offer negotiation
- Excellent organisation and prioritisation skills, with a strong focus on pace, quality and candidate care
Direct industry experience is not essential. Strong recruitment capability, adaptability and a solution-focused mindset are more important.

- A 9-day fortnight with a rostered day off
- Flexible hybrid working, with a standard rhythm of three days in our Ultimo office and two days working from home
