About the role

As Senior Sustainability Advisor, you will play a central role in the design, delivery and continuous improvement of Transgrid’s Group’s sustainability program. Working closely with the Head of Sustainability and partnering with teams across the business, you will help to embed sustainability principles into decision making, uplift capability, drive sustainability led projects and enhance our reporting maturity.

What will a day in this role look like

As Senior Sustainability Advisor, you’ll help ensure sustainability is understood, embedded and actioned across Transgrid.

On a typical day, you may find yourself:

• Supporting the evolution and delivery of Transgrid’s Group Sustainability Strategy, helping translate priorities, metrics into clear actions and measurable outcomes.
• Partnering with Business Units to scope, plan and implement sustainability initiatives that enhance performance, uplift capability and address emerging risks and opportunities.
• Leading sustainability focused projects - developing project plans and governance frameworks, managing budgets and schedules, and reporting progress using corporate tools. 
• Preparing inputs for key sustainability disclosures including the Annual Sustainability Report, external ratings and internal performance updates.
• Reviewing sustainability data, improving data, improving data collection processes, and developing automated reporting to generate. insights and strengthen reporting quality.
• Working with Communications teams to deliver consistent and engaging sustainability messaging internally and externally.
• Engaging with stakeholders across the organisation, providing specialist advice, building capability and supporting a cohesive, enterprise-wide approach to sustainability.

What we are looking for you to bring to the team

• Tertiary qualification in a relevant discipline such as Sustainability, Environment, ESG, Strategy, Business or similar.
• Demonstrated experience delivering sustainability outcomes within complex organisations.
• Strong project management capability and confidence engaging diverse stakeholders at all levels.
• Understanding of key sustainability frameworks such as GRI, GRESB, SBTi or ASRS.
• Strong analytical skills with experience in data interpretation, reporting and compliance documentation.
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to build strong, collaborative relationships.
• A commitment to integrity, safety, inclusion and ethical practice is essential.
