About Us

At Transgrid, our work improves the lives of millions – from lighting up sports fields, schools and homes, to powering the wheels of commerce and everything else in between. Now it’s your turn to make it happen.

This is an exciting time in the energy industry with the transition to renewable energy. Recent government policy documents outline plans to facilitate increasing transmission interconnection between states and development of renewable energy zones.

The Opportunity

In your new role, you will join a collaborative design team and play a key part in transforming early engineering inputs into high-quality, buildable drawings across a range of electrical infrastructure projects.

Working across substation secondary systems, you will be responsible for producing accurate and compliant secondary systems design deliverables, while supporting engineers and project teams to deliver critical infrastructure safely and efficiently in a fast-paced environment.

Our ideal candidate will bring strong design and drafting capability, along with the ability to convert preliminary engineering concepts and inputs into practical, high-quality design drawings. A key focus of the role will also be applying document and version control processes through our Electronic Document Management System (EDMS).

About You

  • Demonstrated experience in electrical drafting, ideally within substation or infrastructure environments
  • Proficiency in MicroStation or AutoCAD, with a willingness to work in MicroStation
  • Experience producing drawings such as schematics, wiring diagrams, single line diagrams or panel layouts
  • Exposure to secondary systems (e.g. protection, control, automation or LV systems), ideally with background and prior experience in the design function
  • Strong attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple deliverables and deadlines
