As a Senior Project Manager, you will be responsible for the successful execution of a portfolio of projects within the Synchronous Condenser Program, ensuring they are delivered on time, within budget, and in accordance with safety, quality, and regulatory standards. This includes project planning, risk mitigation, stakeholder coordination, and a strong focus on commercial outcomes.
You will work closely with internal teams, contractors, regulatory bodies, and external stakeholders to drive seamless project execution. In this role you will report directly to the Project Director and work alongside a team of Senior Project Managers and coordinators. Your leadership in this role will be instrumental in fostering a high-performing, collaborative environment where project objectives are met efficiently and effectively. You will develop and implement project management plans, ensuring clear deliverables and expectations, while monitoring progress to identify risks and implement mitigation strategies.
Managing financial, contractual, and regulatory obligations will be a key aspect of the role, as well as overseeing procurement and contractor performance to ensure high-quality outcomes. Regular reporting to senior management and key stakeholders will be required to maintain transparency and alignment with business objectives.

Key Responsibilities as a Senior Project Manager
- Manage the end-to-end delivery of critical infrastructure projects – specifically the Synchronous Condenser Project.
- Oversee project planning, scheduling, and risk management to meet key milestones.
- Ensure compliance with financial, regulatory, and safety requirements.
- Foster strong stakeholder relationships and effectively manage contractor performance.
- Drive continuous improvement and innovation in project execution.
- Lead, develop, and mentor emerging talent across the business, providing guidance to Project Managers, Engineers, and the broader Transgrid team.

More About You & What You’ll Bring
- Tertiary qualification in engineering or a related field – Electrical Engineering preferred, Civil & Industrial also highly regarded.
- Extensive experience managing large capital infrastructure projects in the energy sector.
- Expert commercial and financial acumen, with experience in budgeting and contract management.
- The ability to identify and resolve project risks, ensuring timely and effective delivery.
