The Opportunity

 

We’re seeking a highly capable Senior Project Manager to lead the delivery of the New Turbine Generators Installation Project. This is a pivotal role responsible for ensuring the project is delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest standards, in line with Transgrid’s policies and procedures.

 

You will oversee all aspects of project management, from governance, risk, and reporting to resource planning and commercial performance, while supporting the Project Director in engaging with the Executive Leadership Team and providing visibility into project status and strategy.

 

You’ll play a key leadership role in driving collaboration across teams, fostering a culture of continuous improvement, and ensuring alignment with Transgrid’s strategic objectives. Your ability to manage budgets, optimise resources, and deliver strong commercial outcomes will be critical to the project’s success. You’ll also be responsible for mentoring and developing your team, ensuring high performance and capability growth.

 

This role will involve regular travel during the construction phase, with an expected on-site presence of approximately two days per week.

 

 

About you

 

  • Tertiary qualifications in engineering or a related discipline, with strong business and commercial acumen
  • Proven experience in contract management, negotiation, and leading multi-disciplinary teams for turbine installation, commissioning, and maintenance
  • Familiarity with control systems such as SCADA and PLC, along with an understanding of regulatory modelling
  • A collaborative and decisive leadership style, with a track record of driving change and innovation
  • Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to think strategically and influence outcomes
