The Opportunity
This is a great opportunity for the Senior Project Developers and Project Developer to join our Development team at Transgrid (Deliver - Projects).
Reporting to the Development Manager, the Project Developer will develop project scope to meet project requirements, coordinate design deliverables for projects in delivery, and act as the key technical contact throughout a project lifecycle. Whereas the Senior Project Developer will provide technical leadership of technical responses to bids and opportunities, including project scoping; option feasibility studies; and detailed design coordination for committed projects.
The roles are dedicated to the planning and development of Transgrid’s projects portfolio including supporting generator connections/modifications, Network projects, telecommunications, transmission line modifications and other 3rd party driven network modifications.
Your proven project development skills will see you develop complete, accurate, optimised and consistent proposals for projects in compliance with relevant technical, work health & safety, environmental, budget, project schedule, statutory and quality requirements.
In addition you will have the ability to coordinate timely, efficient and quality stakeholder advices to meet customer requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
As a Project Developer you will:
- Develop project scope regarding the design and delivery stages of projects
- Facilitate technical deliverables during delivery stage which includes coordinating design deliverables with TransGrid design teams and external design partners for full range of designs
- Work on multiple projects at various stages in the life-cycle demonstrating an ability to effectively prioritise between competing issues
- Identify, document and assess project risk, engaging relevant stakeholders to recommend solutions to mitigate, minimise and manage risk
- Monitor scope, project budget and schedule to deliver complete, on-time and on-budget outcomes
- Demonstrate a high-level technical understanding of high voltage infrastructure relevant to the role
- Apply technical knowledge to review, analyse and develop design options, assumptions, cost and risks
- Prepare project status reports in accordance with procedures
- Monitor and report on project cost and schedule for compliance and performance
As a Senior Project Developer, you will:
- Lead the investigation and preparation of detailed scoping reports relating to the delivery and operational stages of the projects
- Lead the management of design deliverables across multiple disciplines in accordance with project requirements
- Lead the investigation and preparation of option feasibility studies relating to the conceptual stage of projects
- Manage multiple projects at various stages in the life-cycle demonstrating an ability to effectively prioritise between competing issues
- Review, challenge and align stakeholder assumptions and inputs to ensure optimum project outcomes
- Manage scope, project budget and schedule to deliver complete, on-time and on-budget outcomes
- Demonstrate ability to identify issues relevant to design and support multi-discipline problem solving
- Prepare project status reports in accordance with procedures
- Facilitate and actively support safety in design processes to ensure safe project outcomes
About you:
To be successful in the role of Project Developer, you will have:
- Tertiary qualification at degree level in Electrical Engineering or alternate engineering discipline with relevant industry experience
- Project experience in transmission line and substation projects in either project development, cost estimation, project management or design management.
- Knowledge of relevant legislation, Australian Standards and Government policy guidelines, which govern safety, engineering design, environmental assessment for the implementation of engineering projects
- Strong interpersonal skills and oral and written communication skills to provide specialist technical advice
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Current driver’s licence and the ability to work away from assigned location for site visits
To be successful in the role of Senior Project Developer you will have:
- Tertiary qualification at degree level in an appropriate engineering discipline
- Substantial experience in managing a range of project management and development activities for transmission line and substation projects including coordination of design, environment, regulatory approvals and stakeholder engagement activities
- Experience in identifying key issues and alternatives across the areas of design, environmental assessment, and construction
- Substantial experience in managing the development of project programs and cost estimates for projects
- Extensive knowledge of relevant legislation, Australian Standards and Government policy guidelines, which govern safety, engineering design, environmental assessment for the implementation of engineering projects
- Strong interpersonal skills and oral and written communication skills to provide specialist technical advice
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Current driver’s licence and the ability to work away from assigned location
