About the role

We're looking for a Senior Project Developer to provide technical leadership on bids and opportunities across Transgrid's non-prescribed and Customer projects portfolio including asset replacement programs, substation augmentations, generator connections and modifications, telecommunications upgrades, and transmission line modifications. You'll lead project scoping, option feasibility studies and detailed design coordination, developing complete, accurate and optimised proposals in collaboration with internal and external stakeholders.

 

What you'll be doing

  • Leading investigation and preparation of scoping reports and option feasibility studies during the bid stage
  • Developing and chairing presentations for delivery, pricing strategy and project kick-off meetings
  • Leading risk assessment workshops and developing effective mitigation strategies
  • Benchmarking cost estimates and negotiating cost optimisation opportunities with stakeholders
  • Leading TransGrid's detailed design inputs and coordinating reviews of externally completed designs
  • Initiating and leading RFQ processes with procurement for external design works
  • Managing multiple competing projects across various stages of the project lifecycle
  • Managing project development and design coordination budgets
  • Identifying, documenting and mitigating project risk with relevant stakeholders
  • Providing timely, accurate and insightful development-phase reporting to management

 

What you'll bring

  • A degree qualification in an appropriate engineering discipline
  • Substantial experience managing project management activities for transmission line and substation projects, including design coordination, environmental and regulatory approvals, and stakeholder engagement
  • Experience identifying key issues and alternatives across design, environmental assessment and construction
  • Substantial experience developing project programs and cost estimates
  • Extensive knowledge of relevant legislation, Australian Standards and Government policy guidelines
  • Strong interpersonal skills and oral/written communication skills to provide specialist technical advice
  • High analytical thinking with demonstrated problem-solving skills
