The Opportunity

 

We are seeking an experienced Senior Project Developer to join our team, based in Sydney, NSW.

 

This role will see you responsible for supporting and leading the development, planning, and management of large-scale projects within Transgrid’s Network and non-prescribed (Lumea) portfolio. These projects include generator connections, substations, and transmission line augmentations, playing a critical role in shaping the future of energy infrastructure in Australia.

 

You will be involved in projects from initiation through to execution, ensuring that technical feasibility, scope definition, cost estimation, risk assessment, and stakeholder engagement are effectively managed. This role requires strong leadership, technical expertise, and collaboration skills to navigate complex projects and deliver high-quality solutions that align with regulatory and industry standards.

           

Additionally, you will work closely with customers, regulatory bodies, and internal teams to drive project success. Your role will involve providing technical guidance, coordinating multi-disciplinary teams, and ensuring all projects are delivered on time and within budget while maintaining high safety and environmental standards.

 

What you’ll do

 

  • Lead and support the development and execution of transmission line and substation projects, ensuring compliance with technical, financial, customer, and regulatory requirements.
  • Define project scope, budgets, and schedules, proactively identifying and mitigating risks.
  • Provide technical leadership and problem-solving expertise, ensuring infrastructure designs meet operational and regulatory standards.
  • Manage multiple projects simultaneously, balancing priorities to achieve successful outcomes within time and budget constraints.

 

About You

 

  • Degree in Electrical or Civil Engineering (or a related discipline).
  • Relevant Power Industry experience in Australia with experience in building power system assets and infrastructure will be considered.
  • Experience in transmission line and substation projects, including development, cost estimation, project management, or design.
  • Strong project management skills, including risk mitigation, budgeting, and stakeholder engagement.
  • Excellent communication, problem-solving, and analytical skills, with a proactive and solutions-driven mindset.
  • Knowledge of legislation, Australian Standards, and Government policies related to safety and engineering will be advantageous.
