Transgrid is seeking a Senior Manager, Procurement – Energy Transition to lead the strategy and execution of critical category management across Transmission Lines, Substations, Specialized Assets, Connections, and Non-Network initiatives. In this senior leadership role, you will
- Define and execute a business-wide category strategy that delivers commercial value, innovation, and resilience.
- Lead a high-performing team, mentor talent, and foster a culture of continuous improvement.
- Partner with senior stakeholders across Engineering, Networks, Projects, and Finance to drive alignment with long-term energy transition objectives.
- Influence supplier performance, negotiate major contracts, and leverage market intelligence to support cost optimization and risk mitigation.
- Champion sustainability, safety, and operational excellence in all procurement decisions.
We’re looking for someone with
- Strong commercial acumen and strategic thinking, with at least 10 years’ experience in procurement or commercial leadership within complex, asset-intensive industries.
- Proven ability to navigate and influence senior stakeholders and deliver value in high-impact projects.
- A passion for innovation, energy transformation, and shaping the future of critical infrastructure.
About you
- Tertiary qualifications in an appropriate discipline and/or minimum of 10 years’ experience in comparable industries and commercial / procurement leadership.
- Excellent stakeholder engagement and senior business stakeholders’ communication capability.
- Deep commercial acumen and strategic thinking
- Demonstrated understanding of procurement processes, commercial frameworks, and risk allocation.
- High level of financial literacy and risk management expertise
