The Opportunity 

This is an exciting opportunity for a self-motivated Senior Design Engineer to join our team. In your new role you will provide advice, designs, and reports while developing standards in accordance with project objectives and stakeholder requirements.

As the Senior Design Engineer, you will provide specialist advice, designs, technical support and develop standards for Control and Automation Systems in accordance with project objectives and stakeholder requirements. 

You will lead the delivery of designs of Control and Automation systems internally as well as provide support to external design providers.

Critical to your role is to ensure designs approved for construction comply with relevant legislation, standards, policies and procedures.

Skills & Experience

• Experience in the design of substation control, automation and protection systems preferably for transmission, distribution or generation industry
• Experience with Low Voltage AC and DC system design and assessments and the associated Australian standards
• Working knowledge and experience with Electronic Document Management System (EDMS) or its equivalent and the associated CAD software such as MicroStation
• Background with High Voltage Plants and Switchgear implementation in the substation environment
• Understanding of substation automation system and the associated secondary systems network architecture and communication protocols
• Understanding of reactive plant controls, special protection schemes, wide area protection and control schemes
