About The Role

 

We have an exciting opportunity for a Senior Cost Controller to join Transgrid’s dynamic HumeLink Major Projects team. In this key role, you will drive the development, control, and reporting of cost plans across major transmission infrastructure projects, ensuring accuracy, transparency, and strategic financial oversight at every stage of the project lifecycle.

 

You'll be at the heart of project delivery and risk management, working closely with project teams to forecast costs, identify opportunities, and support critical decision-making. With your sharp analytical thinking, cost planning expertise, and deep understanding of construction and project management principles, you’ll help ensure the financial success and resilience of one of Australia’s most significant energy transition initiatives.

 

About You

 

  • Tertiary qualifications in Commerce, Finance, Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or a related discipline
  • Minimum 5 years' experience in cost planning, scheduling, or cost control on large-scale infrastructure projects (high-voltage transmission experience desirable)
  • Strong financial modelling skills, with experience consolidating data from multiple sources into clear reporting
  • Practical project and site-based experience, with knowledge of Earned Value Management (EVM), CPI and SPI principles
  • Ability to proactively identify issues, develop solutions, and drive continuous improvement across project cost management processes
  • Demonstrated experience in financial modelling and forecasting to support cost planning and project decision-making
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret cost behaviours, trends, and variances across large-scale infrastructure projects
  • Proven ability to consolidate data and produce clear, actionable reporting for project teams and senior stakeholders.
