As the Senior Asset Standards Engineer, you’ll develop and maintain technical standards for the design and construction of substations and transmission assets, including overhead lines, cables, and power system equipment.
You’ll assess technical standards and supplier performance, evaluate new technologies, and collaborate with key stakeholders to develop innovative, cost-effective solutions that balance risk, performance, and lifecycle value.
This role also involves representing Transgrid on national and international bodies, providing expert advice on power systems equipment, and leading investigations into defects and failures to drive continuous improvement.
About You
- Degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent.
- Experience in high voltage infrastructure, asset management, or power system design and operations.
- Skilled in reviewing technical and commercial impacts of standards and specifications.
- Strong understanding of risk management and Safety in Design principles.
- Knowledge of National Electricity Rules and relevant legislation.
