About the Role

 

We are seeking an experienced and commercially astute Proposal Manager to lead the development, negotiation and execution of complex customer proposals and service agreements across the transmission network. This is a pivotal role that drives strategic customer outcomes, ensures compliance with the National Electricity Rules and supports the successful delivery of major connection and infrastructure projects.

 

You will work closely with technical experts, commercial stakeholders, legal teams and senior leaders to create competitive, customer led proposals that balance innovation, risk, pricing and commercial strategy. Your ability to manage negotiations, influence stakeholders and deliver high quality outcomes will directly strengthen customer relationships and shape Transgrid’s position as the supplier of choice.

 

What You Will Deliver 

 

  • Lead the full lifecycle of customer proposals from identification to execution, ensuring proposals are competitive, compliant and commercially sound
  • Oversee and manage the connection application process for new customer connections, including contract negotiations, financial modelling and pricing strategies
  • Drive strategic customer engagement throughout the connection application and proposal process, including regular updates, issue resolution and coordination across multidisciplinary teams
  • Collaborate with technical, commercial, legal and operational stakeholders to develop end to end solutions that meet customer needs and organisational requirements
  • Maintain accurate governance, documentation, cost assessments and CRM records to support clear decision making, project approvals and reporting

 

What You Bring

 

You are a strong commercial leader with deep experience in managing high value proposals and contracts. You excel at navigating complexity, engaging stakeholders and making commercial decisions that balance customer value and organisational outcomes.

 

You bring: 

 

  • Tertiary qualifications in business, engineering, commerce, law or a related discipline, or equivalent experience
  • Extensive experience developing and managing competitive proposals in energy infrastructure or related technical sectors
  • Strong commercial and financial acumen, including experience with pricing strategy and financial modelling
  • Experience leading contract negotiations with customers, legal teams and internal stakeholders
  • Working knowledge of the electricity industry, transmission networks and the National Electricity Rules
  • High level communication, influencing and negotiation skills
  • Strong organisational ability and confidence managing multiple priorities under pressure
  • A customer focused mindset and a proven ability to build trusted relationships
