Lead delivery at the forefront of the energy transition
Transgrid is delivering one of the most significant infrastructure programs in its history. Our Delivery Projects group is expanding to meet the pace and scale of investment required to support Australia’s evolving energy system.
We’re now seeking Project Managers to lead the delivery of Class B infrastructure projects across our portfolio.
The Opportunity | Sydney, Newcastle & Regional & Regional NSW
As a Project Manager, you’ll be accountable for the end-to-end delivery of infrastructure projects; managing safety, scope, schedule, cost, risk and stakeholder outcomes within Transgrid’s Project Management Framework.
You’ll operate in complex delivery environments, working closely with contractors, consultants and internal teams. Projects span greenfield and brownfield environments and vary in scale and complexity, providing meaningful challenge and development.
Successful candidates will be aligned to projects based on capability and delivery experience, rather than being locked into a single project long-term.
A Day in the Life
You will:
- Lead project delivery from planning through to completion
- Manage contractors, consultants and internal delivery teams
- Maintain strong governance, reporting and assurance disciplines
- Manage budgets, contracts and commercial outcomes
- Identify, manage and mitigate delivery and safety risks
- Coordinate interfaces across multiple workstreams and stakeholders
- Ensure compliance with Transgrid safety, quality and regulatory frameworks
About you
We’re keen to hear from Project Managers with experience across Electrical and/or Civil infrastructure, ideally within utilities, energy or similarly regulated environments.
You’ll have:
- A tertiary qualification in Electrical/Civil Engineering or a related discipline
- Proven experience delivering capital infrastructure projects
- Strong commercial and contract management capability
- Confidence operating in complex, multi-stakeholder environments
- A practical, outcomes-focused and safety-led approach to delivery
Projects you could be involved in
As part of Transgrid’s growing Delivery Projects portfolio, successful candidates may have the opportunity to work across a range of major infrastructure programs, including:
- Synchronous Condenser (SynCons) projects
Supporting system strength and network stability as renewable generation continues to increase, these projects involve complex brownfield delivery, commissioning and integration with live assets.
- Central-West Orana Renewable Energy Zone (CWO REZ)
One of Australia’s most significant renewable energy programs, delivering new transmission infrastructure to unlock large-scale renewable generation and support regional growth.
- Data Centre connections and network augmentations
Enabling the rapid expansion of data centres across NSW through new substations, network augmentations and complex customer connection projects.
Projects vary in scale, lifecycle stage and delivery environment, and assignments will be aligned based on capability, experience and business priorities as the portfolio evolves.
Why join Transgrid
- Lead projects that are critical to the reliability of the energy network
- Be part of a growing delivery function with long-term momentum
- Access future opportunities across a diverse project portfolio
- Work in a collaborative environment with strong governance and support
- Build a long-term career in a stable, purpose-driven organisation
