About Us

At Transgrid, our work improves the lives of millions – from lighting up sports fields, schools and homes, to powering the wheels of commerce and everything else in between. Now it’s your turn to make it happen.

This is an exciting time in the energy industry with the transition to renewable energy. Recent government policy documents outline plans to facilitate increasing transmission interconnection between states and development of renewable energy zones.

The Opportunity

Play a key role in shaping Australia’s energy future. As part of an organisation delivering landmark renewable energy projects that will power communities for generations, you’ll have the opportunity to influence policy decisions at a national scale and contribute to meaningful change in the sector.

We’re experiencing strong growth and are now seeking a Policy and Advocacy Manager to join our Regulatory and Policy team. Reporting to the Head of Energy Policy, you will be front and centre in helping to guide the policy landscape and drive reform that supports Transgrid’s strategic direction.

In this role, you will:

• Scan and anticipate emerging regulatory and policy shifts across NSW and nationally, identifying risks, opportunities and pathways to enable strategy execution
• Lead and influence key policy reform initiatives that strengthen Transgrid’s position as a leading Transmission Network Service Provider (TNSP)
• Support the implementation of our Regulation Strategy, using policy and regulatory levers to drive outcomes that matter
• Shape advocacy and thought leadership through our Stakeholder Advocacy Plan, engaging with AEMC, AEMO, AER, government agencies and other key stakeholders
• Partner with internal teams to ensure policy positions are commercially grounded and operationally realistic
• Prepare well-reasoned submissions and responses to policy changes and reform proposals

About you

You’re someone who enjoys tackling complex issues, shaping policy direction, and engaging with influential stakeholders. You bring curiosity, critical thinking and the confidence to contribute to important conversations.

We’d love to hear from you if you have:

• Experience gained in industry, consulting, government/public sector, or similarly relevant policy or advisory environments
• Exposure to regulated industries (energy, utilities, infrastructure or telecommunications) — valuable but not essential
• Tertiary qualifications in economics, finance, engineering or similar
• 5–10 years’ experience across economics, public policy, strategy, commercial roles or technical disciplines

We believe in providing our people personal, professional and social benefits so that they can deliver their best work each and every day.
