- Build clear, compelling business cases for innovation projects. This includes tapping into innovation funding, partnerships and grants where it makes sense.
- Explore and deliver new technology opportunities that can be owned and operated by the network, ensuring they align with regulations and deliver real value for customers.
- Lead policy reform and stakeholder engagement to address barriers and unlock opportunities for emerging technologies.
- Build strong relationships with solution providers and stakeholders to monitor market capability, cost and availability.
- Manage non-network solutions from specification and commissioning through to operations, regulatory cost recovery, and contract closure.
- Lead the identification, assessment, procurement, and delivery of non-network solutions as alternatives to traditional network investment.
- Establish governance frameworks and processes to deliver and approve non-network and wider innovation projects.
What you’ll bring
You are a strategic leader with deep expertise in energy networks, regulation, and innovation. You combine commercial acumen with technical understanding, and you thrive in building cross-functional partnerships to deliver complex initiatives. You will bring:
- Proven experience in energy, utilities or infrastructure sectors, ideally with exposure to transmission networks.
- Strong knowledge of regulatory frameworks – for example, RIT-T framework.
- Demonstrated experience leading complex projects across technical, regulatory, commercial, and contractual dimensions.
- Exceptional stakeholder skills and an ability to build and maintain high-value partnerships with external stakeholders and solution providers.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving and communication skills.
- A track record of driving innovation and change in highly regulated environments.
