Transgrid is seeking an experienced IT Release and Environments Manager to join our team based in our Ultimo office. Reporting to the IT Service Manager Lead, this pivotal role will collaborate closely with Project Management, Architecture, Applications, Testing, and Change Management teams.

You will be responsible for overseeing the provisioning and access of IT environments, ensuring standards are upheld across both project and BAU (Business as Usual) activities. This includes developing and managing environment roadmaps aligned with multiple project requirements, setting and maintaining environment governance, and managing release processes throughout the application lifecycle. The role also involves coordinating environment and database refreshes — including data obfuscation where required — to support both testing and operational needs

 

About You

 

To be successful in this role, you will ideally possess some or all of the following:

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • Proven experience (5+ years) in IT release management, environment management, or related IT disciplines.
  • Strong understanding of software development lifecycle (SDLC) methodologies and release management best practices.
  • Proficiency in release management tools, version control systems, and automation frameworks
  • In-depth knowledge of ITIL practices. Agile and DevOps are a plus.
  • Strong understanding of IT operations, infrastructure, and application environments.
  • Experience with risk assessment and mitigation strategies related to software releases.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate with diverse teams and stakeholders.
  • Analytical mindset and attention to detail, with the ability to think critically and problem-solve effectively, with a focus on driving process improvements and optimising release workflows.
  • Strategic thinker with excellent communication and leadership skills to drive a culture of continuous improvement and maintain the reliability and resilience of our IT services.
  • Excellence in customer service with the ability to develop partnerships with key stakeholders and business units.
