The Opportunity
We’re seeking an experienced IT Configuration Lead to manage the strategy, governance, and continuous improvement of Transgrid’s Configuration Management Database (CMDB). This is a key role within our Information Technology team, responsible for ensuring the integrity, accuracy, and value of configuration data across our IT landscape.
As the owner of the CMDB, you’ll define and maintain configuration management policies, oversee ServiceNow CMDB operations, and drive adoption of the Common Service Data Model (CSDM).
You’ll work closely with technical teams, vendors, and business stakeholders to embed best practices, support service visibility, and enable data-driven decision-making across the organisation. This is a fantastic opportunity to shape how configuration data supports operational resilience, risk management, and digital transformation at scale.
About You
You’re a detail-oriented and strategic IT professional with a strong background in configuration and asset management. With hands-on experience in ServiceNow CMDB and a deep understanding of IT infrastructure, you’re confident leading initiatives that improve data quality, governance, and service outcomes.
You’re comfortable working across teams and systems, and you bring a collaborative mindset to solving complex challenges. Your ability to translate technical insights into business value makes you a trusted partner across IT and the wider organisation.
You will also bring:
- Extensive experience in IT configuration and asset management
- Proven expertise in ServiceNow CMDB, including adoption of the Common Service Data Model (CSDM)
- Strong understanding of IT infrastructure, including hardware, software, and network components
- Knowledge of IT Service Management (ITSM) principles and practices
- Certification in configuration management (e.g. ITIL)
- Experience defining and implementing strategy, governance, and process improvements
