About the Role

As the Health and Safety Assurance Manager – HTP, you will lead assurance activities across the Hunter Transmission Project Delivery Phase, ensuring Principal Contractors are effectively implementing work health and safety management systems, plans, and controls in line with contractual, legislative, and Transgrid requirements.

Working closely with project delivery teams, contractors, and leadership stakeholders, you will conduct audits, inspections, and assurance reviews across multiple project packages while driving continuous improvement in safety performance, compliance, governance, and risk management outcomes. The role also supports the implementation and ongoing effectiveness of Transgrid’s Work Health and Safety Assurance Plan across a complex major infrastructure environment. Position can be based in either Newcastle or Ultimo, NSW.

About You

 

  • Demonstrated experience conducting WHS or management system audits across major infrastructure, utilities, transmission, construction, or other high-risk project environments
  • Strong understanding of WHS legislation, contractor management, assurance frameworks, governance, and risk management within complex delivery environments
  • Proven capability preparing audit findings, assurance reporting, corrective action management, and safety performance reviews across multidisciplinary stakeholder groups
  • Strong stakeholder engagement, communication, and analytical problem-solving skills, with the ability to influence positive safety outcomes and drive continuous improvement
  • Tertiary qualifications in Work Health and Safety, Quality Systems Auditing, or a related discipline, together with a current Driver Licence and Construction White Card.
