The Opportunity
This is an exciting opportunity for a motivated individual to be part of an organisation dedicated to leading Australia’s clean energy transition, building the energy super-highways and enabling nation-building renewable energy projects that will provide on-demand energy and large-scale storage for many generations to come.
Transgrid is delivering the Federal and State Government's vision for a clean energy future, and new renewable generation is being built across the eastern seaboard and will connect to the grid to get that electricity to market.
Our major projects are a priority for Governments and for the nation. The integration of renewables will secure and strengthen the electricity network and enable greater sharing between NSW, ACT, Victoria, South Australia and Queensland.
The Health and Safety Administration is responsible for providing administrative support to the Health Safety and Environment (HSE) Director Major Projects in the development, implementation and maintenance of health and safety programs and improvement initiatives. The role involves organising and completing documentation, scheduling meetings and training, assisting with compliance reporting and facilitating communication between management and employees on health and safety matters. This role presents a valuable opportunity for the right candidate to collaborate within a team environment and develop their skills within the High Voltage Transmission electricity industry.
As Health and Safety Administration you will:
- Assist in the preparation, distribution, and filing of Major Project`s (MP) health and safety documentation policies, procedures, and reports.
- Coordinate and schedule health and safety meetings, training sessions, and inspections.
- Support Major Projects HSE to comply with health and safety regulations by tracking deadlines and submitting required documentation
- Assist in the preparation of reports and presentations
- Act as a liaison between senior management and employees, ensuring that health and safety information is effectively communicated.
- Collect, organize, and analyse health and safety data to support management in identifying trends and areas for improvement.
- Assist in the MP head office reporting and documenting of workplace accidents, incidents, and near-misses.
- Help organize and coordinate employee training programs, including scheduling sessions and tracking attendance.
- Provide support in reviewing and updating health and safety policies and procedures.
- Assist the HSE Director in identifying opportunities for improvement in health and safety practices.
Skills & Experience
- Minimum Cert IV Health and Safety, with Business Administration certification, or a related field is preferred.
- Solid demonstrated administrative experience, preferably in a health and safety or related field.
- Understanding of health and safety regulations and practices ins an asset.
- Strong organisation skills, attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple tasks.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to consult with customers and stakeholders, both internal and external.
- Proficiency in the use of corporate information systems
- A current Australian car driver’s licence.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) and familiarity with SharePoint and database management.
- Advanced Excel experience and skills
