The Opportunity

We are seeking a Finance Manager to support the VNI (Victoria–NSW Interconnector) project—a major transmission initiative connecting energy markets across states.
Reporting to the Finance Director, you’ll lead project financial management, ensuring the accuracy, integrity and optimisation of financial systems, reporting, and cost controls. You’ll partner closely with project delivery, cost control and corporate finance teams to support informed decision-making and drive continuous improvement across financial processes.
Key responsibilities include:
- Managing project financial systems, reporting, and controls
- Ensuring accurate and timely financial data for stakeholders
- Supporting budgeting, forecasting, and cost management
- Driving process improvements and system optimisation
- Providing insights and financial analysis to support delivery
- Mentoring and supporting finance team members
About You
You’re a detail-driven finance professional with strong commercial acumen and experience in complex, large-scale projects.
You will bring:
- Degree qualification and CA/CPA membership (or equivalent)
- 5+ years’ experience in major infrastructure or project environments
- Proven experience managing budgets on large-scale projects ($1bn+)
- Strong cost control and financial reporting expertise
- Advanced analytical and problem-solving skills
- Experience working in regulated environments (desirable)
- Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills
