About Us

At Transgrid, our work improves the lives of millions – from lighting up sports fields, schools and homes, to powering the wheels of commerce and everything else in between. Now it’s your turn to make it happen.

We play a crucial role in delivering safe, reliable, and sustainable energy to millions of Australians. Operating over 13,000 km of high-voltage transmission lines and 128 substations across NSW and the ACT, we connect electricity generators to the distribution network powering homes, businesses, and communities. As Australia accelerates its energy transition, the work we do has never been more significant.

The Opportunity

At Transgrid, we're playing a critical role in Australia's clean energy future by delivering the infrastructure that connects renewable energy projects and powers millions of homes, businesses and communities across NSW and the ACT.

As our business continues to grow, we're looking for an experienced Finance Business Partner to join our Commercial Finance team. Reporting to the Senior Commercial Finance Manager, you'll partner closely with our Network Portfolio, Commercial and Innovation teams to provide commercial, financial and regulatory insights that support strategic decision-making.

This is a true business partnering role where you'll influence investment decisions, budgeting, forecasting, regulatory submissions and commercial arrangements while ensuring strong financial governance and control. Working across a diverse stakeholder group, you'll help drive financial performance, improve cost recoverability and ensure alignment between commercial, regulatory and accounting outcomes.

If you're someone who enjoys collaborating with senior stakeholders, solving complex business challenges and using financial insights to influence outcomes, we'd love to hear from you.

About You

You're a commercially minded finance professional who enjoys partnering with stakeholders to influence business outcomes. You combine strong technical accounting knowledge with commercial acumen and are confident translating complex financial information into practical, strategic insights.

You'll bring:

  • Degree qualifications in Accounting, Finance or a related discipline, with CA, CPA or CIMA accreditation.
  • Demonstrated experience in a Finance Business Partner or Commercial Finance role within a large, complex organisation.
  • Strong financial and management accounting expertise, including budgeting, forecasting, financial modelling and performance analysis.
  • Proven ability to build trusted relationships, influence stakeholders and provide commercially focused advice across the business.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret complex data and communicate clear, actionable insights.
  • Experience driving business performance, continuous improvement and sound financial governance.
  • Knowledge of accounting standards, financial controls and regulatory frameworks, with exposure to regulated industries (such as energy or utilities) being highly regarded.
  • Experience working within infrastructure, utilities or other capital-intensive environments.
  • Proficiency using enterprise financial systems and reporting tools.
  • Excellent communication, organisational and time management skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities and deliver outcomes.
