Company: TransGrid

About Us

At Transgrid, our work improves the lives of millions – from lighting up sports fields, schools and homes, to powering the wheels of commerce and everything else in between. Now it’s your turn to make it happen.

This is an exciting time in the energy industry with the transition to renewable energy. Recent government policy documents outline plans to facilitate increasing transmission interconnection between states and development of renewable energy zones.

The Opportunity

Power Australia’s renewable energy future while growing your career in Employee Relations.

As we deliver nation-building renewable energy projects that will support communities for generations, we’re expanding — and now seeking a motivated Employee Relations Coordinator to join our team. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who’s passionate about people, workplace culture and fair employment practices, and is eager to build deep ER capability.

In this role, you’ll support the delivery of our ER strategy, working alongside and learning from experienced senior ER professionals. You’ll assist in managing ER matters, coordinating casework and providing timely, practical support to leaders across the business. Your work will help ensure we maintain a positive, compliant and collaborative workplace aligned to relevant legislation, policies and procedures.

If you're looking to step into a role where you can grow, learn and make a real impact — this could be the perfect next step.

Please note that this role is part time 4 days a week and can be based in either Sydney or Newcastle

About you

You’ll thrive here if you are someone who brings curiosity, initiative and a passion for people. Ideally, you’ll bring some of the following:

  • Foundational knowledge of employee relations, industrial instruments and employment legislation
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to build trust and influence
  • Analytical thinker with attention to detail and problem-solving ability
  • Experience in a People & Culture or Employee Relations environment
  • Ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • A collaborative, proactive approach and genuine interest in developing ER capability
  • High standards of professionalism, ethics and confidentiality
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills — able to prepare reports, briefings and advice
  • Effective organisational and time-management skills
  • Experience engaging proactively with stakeholders, including unions
  • Relevant tertiary qualifications in HR, IR/ER, Law, Business or similar — or equivalent experience

If you’re ready to develop specialist ER skills and be part of a purpose-driven organisation shaping Australia’s energy future — we’d love to hear from you.
