The Opportunity
As Program Lead for Transmission Lines, you’ll oversee training for our Transmission Lines workforce, including apprentices, trainees, and those completing the Certificate III in ESI – Transmission Overhead. You will ensure programs are compliant with national standards, technically accurate, and aligned with the needs of a workforce that plays a critical role in Australia’s energy future.
This is an opportunity to directly influence how our lines workforce is prepared for the future through embedding capability, safety, and professionalism into a team that literally keeps the power flowing across NSW and the ACT.
Note: This position can be based at multiple Transgrid locations, including Sydney, Tamworth, Newcastle, Orange, Wagga Wagga, and Yass
A Day in the Life at Transgrid
In this role you’ll:

Design and implement training pathways for lines apprentices and technicians.

Ensure compliance with national training requirements (Cert III ESI).

Maintain training calendars, content, and audit readiness.

Build strong relationships with industry to align training with emerging practices.

Support succession planning by building a capable, future-ready workforce.
About You
You bring extensive experience in transmission line construction and maintenance, along with a strong interest in developing others. You understand the technical and safety demands of the role, and you know how to translate them into structured, practical training. You will bring:

Extensive experience in transmission line work in the electricity sector.

Certificate III ESI – Transmission Overhead and Certificate IV TAE.

Demonstrated experience in program design and delivery.

Strong stakeholder engagement and industry partnerships.
