The Opportunity 

As Program Lead for Secondary Systems, you will take responsibility for building the skills of our Protection & Metering, Telecommunications, and Control technicians. You’ll design and deliver training programs that ensure these critical specialists are equipped to manage increasingly complex secondary systems. 

 

This role combines subject matter expertise with program leadership. You’ll influence how training is delivered internally, while also engaging with industry and VET bodies to shape qualifications and standards that will define the workforce of the future. 

 

A Day in the Life at Transgrid 

In this role you’ll: 

  • Design and implement structured training pathways for Secondary Systems technicians. 

  • Partner with the RTO and industry to align qualifications to emerging needs. 

  • Oversee compliance, training content, audits, and continuous improvement. 

  • Support onboarding and succession planning by embedding technical learning pathways. 

  • Represent Transgrid at industry forums to influence the future of secondary systems training. 

 

About You 

You are a Secondary Systems expert who enjoys developing others. You combine deep technical knowledge with a collaborative style, and you’re able to translate complex systems into accessible learning experiences. You will bring: 

  • Strong background in protection, metering, telecoms, or control systems. 

  • Certificate IV TAE (or willingness to obtain). 

  • Demonstrated experience in training design and delivery. 

  • Excellent stakeholder engagement and industry collaboration skills.
