About Us

At Transgrid, our work powers the nation—supporting homes, communities, and industries that Australians rely on every day. From lighting local sports fields to enabling major economic activity, the impact of what we do is both immediate and far-reaching.

We are at the forefront of Australia’s energy transformation. The Opportunity

This is a rare chance to make a real impact on one of Australia’s most important energy transition programs.

We’re looking for a Governance, Risk & Compliance (GRC) Manager to join our Technology and Transformation team. In this role, you’ll shape and run the governance, risk, and compliance framework across Technology—helping ensure everything we do is well‑controlled, transparent, and meets regulatory and organisational expectations.

You’ll provide independent oversight and assurance, working closely with Technology leaders to embed risk and compliance into day‑to‑day operations and decision‑making. As a trusted second‑line partner, you’ll help build executive confidence while enabling teams to deliver efficiently within clear, practical controls.

About you

You’re an experienced governance and risk professional who thrives in complex Technology environments. You bring a pragmatic, collaborative approach and enjoy working with senior stakeholders to make risk and compliance work in practice.

You’ll ideally have:

  • A tertiary qualification in IT, Risk, Business, Law, Engineering, or a related field
  • Experience in Technology or digital GRC roles, ideally within large or regulated organisations
  • Strong knowledge of Technology risks, including cyber, data, third‑party, and delivery risks
  • Hands‑on experience setting up or assuring governance and control frameworks (e.g. COBIT, ISO)
  • Experience supporting audits, including evidence management and remediation tracking
  • The ability to translate regulatory requirements into clear, workable Technology controls
  • Excellent communication skills, with the confidence to challenge and influence senior leaders

This is a chance to play a meaningful role in Australia’s energy future, working in a purpose‑driven organisation alongside industry leaders on nationally significant infrastructure projects.
