The Opportunity
In your new role, you will lead and support the ongoing development of Transgrid's online condition monitoring capability, helping ensure the reliability and performance of critical high voltage network assets. Acting as the technical subject matter expert, you'll provide guidance on condition monitoring technologies, support testing and commissioning activities, and drive continuous improvement initiatives that enhance asset health and network reliability.
You will work closely with field teams, asset monitoring specialists, engineers, designers and equipment manufacturers, and play a key role in developing procedures, delivering training, rolling out new technologies and building capability across the business. This is a unique opportunity to combine hands-on technical expertise with program leadership and influence how condition monitoring is applied across one of Australia's largest transmission networks.
This role can be based at any Transgrid location, including Eastern Creek, Newcastle, Orange, Tamworth, Wagga Wagga or Yass. Eastern Creek, Newcastle and Orange are the preferred locations.
About You
The ideal candidate will bring experience in online condition monitoring and HV assets, with the technical expertise and communication skills to build capability across the business.
- Experience with online condition monitoring systems and HV equipment
- Knowledge of control, monitoring, automation or instrumentation systems
- Ability to configure, test and troubleshoot equipment and software
- Experience developing technical procedures and delivering training
- Strong communication skills across field, engineering and vendor teams
