We are seeking an experienced Senior HSE Business Partner to join our Health, Safety and Environment team in a key internal opportunity supporting Infrastructure Delivery and Portfolio stakeholders.

 

This role is ideal for a capable HSE professional ready to step into a broader, more strategic partnering position. As a trusted advisor to the business, you will provide specialist health and safety advice, lead tactical and strategic initiatives, support change adoption, and partner across the organisation to strengthen Transgrid’s safety culture.

 

You will play an important role in shaping and driving HSE improvements, partnering with leaders and teams to proactively manage risk, implement uplift initiatives, improve systems and processes, and support the successful delivery of key business priorities. This is a varied role that blends business partnering, project management, change support and communication management, while keeping a strong focus on practical safety outcomes.

 

A Day in the Life

In this role, you will:

  • Partner with business leaders to provide specialist HSE advice and coaching
  • Lead and support strategic and tactical HSE initiatives from planning through to implementation
  • Drive continuous improvement opportunities across HSE systems, processes and programs
  • Support incident management, reporting and investigations, including use of CAMMS
  • Develop communication plans, safety messaging and change support materials to improve engagement and adoption

About You

You are an experienced HSE professional who brings strong business partnering capability, sound judgement and a practical, solutions-focused approach. You know how to influence, coach and engage stakeholders, and you are comfortable working across both strategic initiatives and day-to-day operational priorities.

 

You will ideally bring:

  • Relevant qualifications at Certificate IV in Work Health and Safety level or equivalent experience
  • Strong, relevant industry experience in WHS
  • Demonstrated experience in delivering or supporting HSE projects and initiatives
  • A solid understanding of WHS legislation, codes of practice, standards and risk management principles
  • Experience applying change management principles to business initiatives
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to prepare presentations, reports and communication materials
  • Confidence working across systems and processes, including Microsoft Office and HSE reporting platforms
  • A current driver’s licence and willingness to travel to other Transgrid locations as required
