Join Transgrid and play a key role in one of the nation’s most significant infrastructure transformations. As a Senior Asset Engineer – Transmission Lines, you’ll lead the strategy, renewal, and performance of our high-voltage overhead network across NSW and the ACT.

 

You’ll provide strategic insights, technical leadership, and direction across all aspects of transmission line asset performance, from design and construction through to operation, maintenance, and renewal. Your expertise will directly influence how we innovate, invest, and future-proof our critical network assets.

 

What You’ll Do

 

  • Shape long-term asset strategies through detailed condition and performance analysis
  • Develop asset health indices and failure probability models for transmission lines
  • Set technical standards for design, construction, and maintenance
  • Lead innovation in inspection methods, materials, and technologies
  • Oversee failure investigations and drive preventative action plans
  • Support investment planning and lifecycle decision-making for line assets
 

What You’ll Bring

 

  • Degree in Electrical, Mechanical, or Civil/Structural Engineering
  • Proven experience in transmission line design, construction, maintenance, and asset management
  • Strong technical knowledge of overhead line systems and Australian standards
  • Ability to integrate technical, safety, and economic factors into asset strategies
