About the opportunity

 

Joining the Network Operations department, you will be part of the team responsible for maintaining the critical SCADA application. The SCADA (Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition) is the system which monitors and controls the NSW electrical network. 

 

You will learn from experienced team members on how to:

 

  • Develop, build, and implement SCADA databases and displays to support network changes and integration of new renewable generation (i.e. Wind, Solar, BESS)
  • Use data modelling tools to configure the Transgrid electrical grid model.
  • Use graphic editing tools to layout SCADA displays and connect elements to the data model.
  • Contribute to continuous/sustained improvement/development of configuration, testing processes, and graphical standards.

 

This opportunity is based in our Newcastle office. As part of the role, you will be required to work in the office 5 days a week.

 

 

About you

 

This is an entry level role and no previous experience in a similar role is required. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone at the beginning of their career, or even someone looking for a career change. It is a technical role so you will need to have:

 

  • Strong attention to detail with a high focus on accuracy
  • Good problem-solving skills
  • Good written and verbal communication skills with the ability to produce quality technical documentation.
  • Eagerness to learn and develop.
  • The ability to manage time and meet deadlines.
  • Electrical or IT qualifications preferred.
