We are seeking an experienced and purposedriven HSW Risk & Assurance Specialist to join our Health, Safety & Wellbeing team. This is a pivotal Line 2 role within the Three Lines Model, providing independent oversight, challenge and assurance to ensure the Safety management System is implemented across Transgrid.

 

In additional to assurance activities, this role plays a critical part in strengthening Transgrid’s HSW “Centre of Excellence” by proactively analysing risk data, identifying improvement opportunities and delivering related initiatives that allow Transgrid to understand it’s HSW risk profile.

 

Working in close partnership with operational leaders, Major Projects and senior stakeholders, this position supports the delivery of a robust HSW assurance strategy aligned to legislative, regulatory and organisational expectations.

 

Key Responsibilities

 

  • Carry out Line 2 HSW risk and assurance activities in accordance with the Three Lines Model.
  • Contribute to the design, delivery and continuously improve of Transgrid Safety Management System.
  • Analyse HSW data, inspections and incidents to identify risks, trends and improvement opportunities.
  • Prepare and present clear, assurance reports to Executive, Board and governance forums.
  • Coach and influence leaders on HSW due diligence, visible leadership and continuous improvement

About You

 

  • Tertiary qualifications in Health & Safety, Environment or a related discipline, or equivalent experience.
  • Accredited H&S or Environmental Lead Auditor (SAI or equivalent).
  • Lead Investigator qualification (ICAM, TapRooT or similar).
  • Extensive experience in HSW auditing, inspection and assurance.
  • Strong knowledge of WHS legislation, Codes of Practice and Australian and international standards.
  • Sound understanding of HSW management systems, risk management principles inc bowtie methodology and assurance.
  • Demonstrated experience working with senior leaders, projects and operational teams.
  • Strong reporting writing and presentation experience.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, digital reporting systems and Bowtie XP (preferrable).
