The Opportunity | Open to Candidates Across All Transgrid Locations – Sydney, Newcastle / Hunter, Wagga, Yass, Orange, Tamworth | Please note this is a 2 Year Fixed Term Opportunity

We’re currently seeking a Project Manager of Workplace Projects to join our team. This is a pivotal role responsible for the planning, execution, and successful delivery of workplace and accommodation projects across our property portfolio.

This includes everything from fit outs of new and existing office spaces, upgrades to depot and operational facilities, and initiatives to enhance workplace amenity and functionality for our people. You’ll lead each project from end to end. Scoping and defining requirements, developing detailed plans, managing stakeholder relationships, managing procurement processes, and overseeing contractor delivery and handover. You’ll work closely with a range of internal teams including IT, Health and Safety, Procurement, Property and People & Culture to ensure projects are delivered in line with Transgrid’s operational needs and strategic goals. Every project you lead will directly improve the experience and safety of our teams across the network.

A Day in the Life at Transgrid

No two days will look the same. You might be reviewing plans for a regional depot upgrade, visiting a site to oversee contractor progress, or finalising budgets for an upcoming head office fit-out.

You’ll lead regular engagement with stakeholders to ensure technical requirements, safety standards, and operational needs are fully integrated into each project. Managing risk, contract performance, and reporting will be part of your daily routine, along with ensuring every project meets time, cost, and quality expectations.

Typical activities may include:

  • Running procurement or tender processes for contractors and services
  • Chairing stakeholder meetings to align on scope, timelines, change management actions, and delivery
  • Tracking project budgets and forecasting against approved capex
  • Liaising with landlords, property managers or facilities providers on site-specific constraints
  • Coordinating project handover, documentation, and maintenance responsibilities

Your work will be key to enabling a safe, modern, and productive workplace across all levels of the organisation.

About You

You’ll bring experience delivering construction, workplace, or facilities projects, ideally within commercial, infrastructure, government, or residential settings. You’ll be confident managing external contractors and vendors, and capable of coordinating complex stakeholder groups with competing priorities.

A relevant qualification and/or demonstratable experience in project management, facilities, or financial/contract management is essential, with knowledge of property services or construction regulations considered highly valuable. You will be a natural problem solver, financially astute, and deeply committed to delivering quality outcomes, safely, and efficiently.

We’re looking for someone who can bring:

  • Proven experience leading workplace, office fit-out or infrastructure projects
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement capabilities
  • Strong project planning, budget forecasting, and contract management skills
  • A pragmatic, delivery-focused approach, grounded in safety and quality
  • A collaborative mindset and ability to work across both technical and corporate teams
