The Opportunity 

 

 

We’re looking for a driven and proactive Project Engineer Grade 2 to manage the project engineering function within the project team. In this role, you’ll provide detailed engineering management and vital support to Project Managers, ensuring successful project delivery.

 

 

You’ll be at the forefront of major capital works, including the delivery of various regulated brownfield substation replacement/augmentation projects throughout NSW.

 

 

You can be based in our Eastern Creek or Newcastle depot with travel requirements to project sites monthly during the Construction phase. 

 

 

A Day in the Life as a Project Engineer at Transgrid

 

 

Take ownership of technical support and engineering management across multiple projects and work closely with Project Managers to ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and meet high-quality standards. You will also:

 

  • Coordinate design responses, procurement, construction, and close-out activities.
  • Engage with internal and external stakeholders to ensure smooth project execution.
  • Prepare reports, track project performance, and ensure compliance with industry standards 

 

 

About You.

 

 

  • Degree qualification in relevant discipline or substantial industry experience in the delivery of large-scale projects. 
  • High level of technical knowledge and experience in the substation augmentation. 
  • Knowledge of relevant legislation, Australian Standards and Government policy guidelines, which govern safety, engineering design, environmental assessment for the implementation of engineering projects 
  • A current Drivers Licence.
