The Opportunity – 12 Month Fixed Term

The Program Lead Transmission Lines Reactive is responsible for managing the full lifecycle of Corrective Maintenance activities for transmission line assets. This includes scoping, estimating, planning, coordinating, forecasting, and reporting on work orders, with a strong focus on safety, compliance and delivery performance.

 

You will work closely with asset management, planning, scheduling, field delivery, community engagement and external stakeholders to ensure maintenance work is delivered safely, efficiently and in alignment with the Maintenance Plan and bushfire mitigation requirements.

 

The role is office based with very limited site attendance. It is well suited to someone who brings strong technical credibility, can stay calm under pressure, enjoys problem solving and is confident working independently. This opportunity is a 12 month fixed term role, with the opportunity and consideration to convert to perm if works enable this. 

 

Key Responsibilities

Program Delivery and Planning

  • Manage the Corrective Maintenance Program for transmission line assets
  • Coordinate and prioritise bushfire mitigation work and corrective tasks
  • Review, scope, and estimate work orders with accuracy and alignment to the Maintenance Plan
  • Maintain program forecasts, track risks, and report on performance
  • Provide technical guidance and assist with complex or high-risk work packages

 

Contract and Financial Management

  • Engage contractors and delivery partners and ensure compliance with safety, quality and environmental requirements
  • Coordinate procurement of plant, materials and services
  • Monitor budgets and maintain accurate forecasting

 

Stakeholder and Relationship Management

  • Work closely with planning, scheduling, asset management, HSE and field delivery
  • Manage relationships with landowners, councils, and key external agencies

 

Quality, Safety and Technical Assurance

  • Ensure compliance with the Power System Safety Rules, WHS and environmental legislation
  • Review completed work for technical and quality standards
  • Support incident investigations and contribute to continuous improvement

About You

You will bring strong technical experience in transmission line maintenance, transmission construction or high voltage environments. You will be someone who works well in a reactive setting, can interpret priorities quickly and can maintain focus under pressure. You must be able to take ownership of the program with minimal coaching.

 

You will bring:

  • Experience managing maintenance or construction programs across dispersed assets
  • Strong capability in contractor engagement, procurement and performance management
  • Solid understanding of WHS and environmental requirements
  • Proven ability to work independently and solve problems calmly
  • Strong communication skills and confidence working with both technical and non-technical stakeholders

 

Qualifications and Requirements

  • Certificate III in Powerlines, ESI Transmission, Distribution, or an Electrical Trade qualification
  • NSW Drivers Licence and 4WD training or willingness to obtain
  • Understanding of WHS and environmental legislation and standards
