The Opportunity

This is a fantastic opportunity for a Principal Engineer to join us at Transgrid.

In your new role you will provide specialist advice on high voltage transmission system operations for TransGrid and third-party customers.

Working across the Network Planning and Operations business unit, the Principal Engineer will represent the Network Operation group within industry and complete specialist technical reports or presentations for internal and external stakeholders.

You will be adaptable and comfortable working in a changing environment with an ability to be flexible and take on challenges with finesse and ease. You will be passionate and driven.

With your exceptional stakeholder management skills, you will build strong partnerships across the organisation and build credibility quickly with your stakeholders including leading technical discussions of power systems operations strategies, working closely with industry stakeholders and figureheads.

To be successful in this role, you will have:

• Tertiary qualifications at degree level in an appropriate discipline
• Extensive experience in the analysis and development of electricity transmission systems
• Solid demonstrable knowledge and experience in energy market, power system analysis, and operational planning
• Solid knowledge and experience of operating characteristics of the entire range of high voltage and secondary equipment used in power systems; power system and electrical plant modelling; power system protection; automatic control systems and their application in power system operation
