About Us

At Transgrid, our work improves the lives of millions – from lighting up sports fields, schools and homes, to powering the wheels of commerce and everything else in between. Now it’s your turn to make it happen.

This is an exciting time in the energy industry with the transition to renewable energy. Recent government policy documents outline plans to facilitate increasing transmission interconnection between states and development of renewable energy zones.

The Opportunity

Join our Delivery team in a newly created role, supporting preventative and corrective maintenance across the transmission network. This is a unique opportunity to step into a flexible, high-impact position where you’ll contribute across a range of maintenance activities, investigations, and manage smaller asset management-driven projects.

Working closely with Delivery Managers and key stakeholders, you’ll play a hands-on role in fault investigations, maintenance programming, contract/tender support, and mentoring junior team members. Predominantly office-based, this role offers variety, autonomy, and the chance to influence how maintenance programs are delivered and improved.

Our ideal candidate will bring experience in maintenance, project or asset engineering within an infrastructure or asset-intensive environment, with the ability to operate autonomously and contribute across varied work activities.

This role can be based from any of our Transgrid depots, including Sydney, Newcastle, Orange, Wagga, Yass, or Tamworth, offering flexibility in location.

About You

  • Proven experience in maintenance, asset or project engineering within utilities, infrastructure or a similar asset-heavy environment (transmission lines highly regarded)
  • Strong systems capability, with experience using tools such as Maximo, SAP, CAMMS, Excel or Power BI for reporting and analysis
  • Experience supporting fault or failure investigations and contributing to preventative and/or corrective maintenance programs
  • Exposure to tender preparation, contract setup or writing technical work instructions
  • Strong written communication skills, with the ability to produce clear technical reports and work independently in an unstructured, ad hoc environment
