Step into a career-defining leadership role as Construction Coordination Manager, where you will lead the coordination of construction, site management, and commissioning resources across our project portfolio.

 

This is a leadership role responsible for ensuring the safe, efficient, and timely delivery of works programs through strong resource planning, outage coordination, and stakeholder engagement. You’ll play a pivotal role in balancing short-term and long-term resourcing, aligning outages across maintenance and project works, and driving a culture of safety, collaboration, and performance.

 

With visibility across multiple projects, this role provides a unique opportunity to shape how construction and commissioning are delivered at Transgrid. You will be responsible for ensuring resources are deployed effectively, outage strategies are integrated into project schedules, and technical challenges are addressed early to minimise risks to cost, safety, and delivery timelines.

 

A Day in the Life at Transgrid

In this role, you will be at the centre of coordinating people, programs, and projects. You will work closely with project teams, commissioning staff, and stakeholders across the business to ensure resources are aligned, outages are planned effectively, and works are delivered safely and efficiently.

 

Success in this role comes from balancing operational detail with big-picture planning, ensuring both immediate and long-term needs are met.

 

  • Lead and motivate the Construction Coordination team with a strong focus on meeting all stakeholder requirements.
  • Oversee the overall program of construction and commissioning resources, ensuring optimal allocation across projects.
  • Develop and manage outage plans, aligning maintenance and project schedules to minimise risks and delays.
  • Drive compliance with safety, environmental, and regulatory standards.
  • Partner with stakeholders to ensure seamless delivery, commercial responsiveness, and customer service excellence.

 

About You

You are a confident leader with strong construction program management experience, ideally within energy, utilities, or large-scale infrastructure projects. You can balance multiple competing demands while keeping safety at the forefront.

 

What you’ll bring:

  • Tertiary qualifications in engineering, construction management, or a related discipline.
  • Demonstrated experience managing construction/commissioning resources and outage coordination.
  • Strong understanding of HV/LV environments and compliance requirements.
  • Proven people leadership skills with the ability to coach, develop, and inspire teams.
  • Advanced planning, scheduling, and negotiation skills.
  • Strong stakeholder engagement and influencing skills, with the ability to work across contractors, delivery partners, and internal teams.
