The Opportunity

 

We are looking for a Digital Infrastructure Asset Strategist or an Asset Engineer to join our team. Regardless of your experience level, we are excited to speak with you.

 

About the roles

 

In the role of Asset Strategist​ or Engineer for the Digital Infrastructure (Secondary Systems) Portfolio, you will analyse and develop strategies for secondary system assets across the entire life cycle.

 

The asset base includes automation, protection, metering services, battery storage, cyber security, low voltage AC and DC services and other infrastructure assets required to operate the transmission network.

 

You will provide valuable input and strategic recommendations to Transgrid’s Asset Management group and Transgrid’s ISO certified Asset Management System.

 

The position will provide strategic advice to the Digital Infrastructure Asset Manager on issues related to assets through the implementation of best practice asset management. The position will assist in developing strategies for asset lifecycle management including renewal and maintenance strategies and forecast expenditure required to achieve Transgrid’s corporate goals and objectives. 

 

About you – Asset Strategist

 

  • Degree in Electrical Engineering or similar with extensive experience in engineering practice related to design, maintenance, construction, and asset management of relevant assets.
  • Through knowledge of the design, construction, operation, maintenance, asset planning and/or analysis of Digital Infrastructure assets.
  • Sound understanding of the concepts and application of risk and asset management.
  • Relevant experience working in a utility, utility environment or asset intensive industry.
  • Commercial acumen and understanding of asset investment justification.
  • Knowledge of regulatory and legal requirements relating to the construction and maintenance of relevant assets, safety issues and the environment.

 

About you – Asset Engineer

 

  • Degree in Electrical Engineering or similar with some experience in engineering practice related to design, maintenance, construction, and asset management of relevant assets.
  • Understand concepts related to the design, construction, operation, maintenance, asset planning and/or analysis of Digital Infrastructure assets.
  • Sound understanding of the concepts and application of risk and asset management.
  • Some experience working in a utility, utility environment or asset intensive industry.
  • Awareness of the National Electricity Market, National Electricity Rules and regulatory frameworks.

 

Applicants must:

 

  • Be able to attend Sydney based office locations (hybrid and work from home flexibility possible)
  • Be an Australian citizen, hold permanent resident status or be eligible to achieve permanent resident status
  • Be capable of passing security background clearance checks.
