The Opportunity
Step into a pivotal role as a Drafter in Substation Primary Electrical Design, where you'll be responsible for producing precise and detailed electrical design drawings and documentation for high-voltage substations and other Transgrid assets.
Your work will directly support design engineers and contribute to the ongoing development of drafting standards and practices, ensuring all outputs meet Transgrid and Australian Standards. You'll manage your own drafting workload, monitor progress, and provide timely updates, identifying and resolving design issues to keep projects on track and within quality expectations.
To succeed in this role, you'll bring strong proficiency in 2D and 3D CAD software such as AutoCAD, MicroStation, or Revit, along with a solid understanding of high-voltage substation design and relevant industry standards.
About you
- Advanced Diploma in Electrical Engineering with proven experience in high-voltage (HV) design drafting.
- Proficient in engineering design software and business systems, ideally Bentley ProjectWise and MicroStation.
- Strong understanding of design quality assurance processes to ensure compliance with project and industry standards.
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple drafting projects, meet deadlines and budgets, and report progress effectively.
- Excellent communication, teamwork, and professionalism within a collaborative engineering environment.
