The Opportunity
We're looking for an experienced and strategic Design Coordination Manager, Integration and Constructability to join our Delivery team in Sydney.
In this leadership role, you'll provide portfolio-wide oversight of design coordination across Transgrid's major transmission, substation and customer connection projects. Working closely with engineering, project management, construction, commissioning and operational teams, you'll play a critical role in ensuring designs are integrated, constructible, assured and ready for delivery across the full project lifecycle.
Leading a team of Design Coordination Leads, you'll drive consistent design coordination practices, strengthen delivery readiness and support the successful delivery of projects that will play a vital role in Australia's energy transition.
A Day in the Life of a Design Coordination Manager at Transgrid
Every day presents an opportunity to influence major infrastructure outcomes while collaborating with a broad range of stakeholders across the business and project portfolio.
On any given day, you could be:
- Providing portfolio leadership across multiple concurrent transmission, substation and customer connection projects to ensure successful design integration and delivery outcomes.
- Leading design coordination teams and driving consistent design management frameworks, governance processes and ways of working across the project portfolio.
- Overseeing constructability reviews, design assurance activities, value engineering initiatives and delivery readiness assessments.
- Managing complex stakeholder interfaces across engineering, project delivery, construction, commissioning, operational teams and external partners.
- Identifying and managing portfolio-level risks, resource requirements, consultant performance and commercial impacts to support project success.
About You
You're a highly collaborative and commercially minded engineering leader who enjoys working across complex infrastructure programs and influencing outcomes at both strategic and operational levels. You bring a strong blend of technical expertise, leadership capability and stakeholder management experience.
We're interested in hearing from candidates who have:
- A degree qualification in Engineering, coupled with extensive experience in transmission, substations, customer connections, utilities, energy or other complex infrastructure environments.
- Proven experience leading multiple concurrent projects, balancing commercial, technical and delivery objectives to achieve successful outcomes.
- Strong knowledge of constructability, design assurance, governance and engineering quality systems, with experience leading constructability reviews, site feasibility assessments and construction methodology validation.
- Excellent communication, leadership and influencing skills, with the ability to engage effectively across multidisciplinary teams and key stakeholders.
- A strong commitment to safety, innovation and continuous improvement, with a proactive approach to identifying opportunities and delivering better outcomes.
