The Opportunity
We're looking for experienced and collaborative Design Coordination Leads - Integration and Constructability to join the team based in Sydney.
In this role, you'll coordinate and integrate multidisciplinary design inputs across assigned major projects and delivery programs. Working closely with engineering disciplines, project delivery teams, construction partners, commissioning teams and external consultants, you'll play a critical role in ensuring designs are coordinated, constructible, compliant and ready for delivery.
A Day in the Life of a Design Coordination Lead at Transgrid
Every day presents a new challenge as you work across complex infrastructure projects and engage with a diverse range of stakeholders.
On any given day, you could be:
- Coordinating multidisciplinary design activities and ensuring effective integration and interface management across engineering disciplines, contractors, consultants and project teams.
- Identifying and managing design risks, technical dependencies and delivery readiness requirements to support project milestones.
- Coordinating design input across constructability, safety-in-design, procurement, outage planning, commissioning, energisation and operational readiness activities.
- Driving the resolution of complex design and constructability issues while monitoring progress, critical interfaces and key delivery milestones.
- Leading the review and analysis of tenders, technical evaluations, design partner submissions and purchase recommendations for relevant design and equipment packages.
About You
You're a proactive and solutions-focused engineering professional who enjoys bringing together diverse stakeholders to deliver successful project outcomes. You thrive in complex project environments and have a passion for design integration, constructability and continuous improvement.
We're interested in hearing from candidates who have:
- A degree qualification in Engineering within a relevant discipline such as Electrical, Civil or Mechanical Engineering
- Demonstrated experience leading or coordinating multidisciplinary engineering and design activities
- Significant experience in transmission, substation, utilities, energy or major infrastructure project delivery
- Strong knowledge of design assurance, constructability, governance and quality systems
- Experience managing consultants, contractors and delivery partners
- Excellent stakeholder engagement, communication and influencing skills
- Strong commercial, risk management and project leadership capability
- The ability to work collaboratively across engineering, construction and operational teams
