The Opportunity
As the VNI West Major Project Delivery Manager, you will lead a team of functional managers to plan, manage and drive complex, multi-disciplinary areas of work under the project all with the highest standards of safety and environmental performance. You will also manage relationships with internal stakeholders, government, industry, and infrastructure connection proponents to successfully initiate and integrate Transgrid’s VNI West project into the business.
Reporting to the VNI West Project Director, you’ll support their engagement with Transgrid’s Executive Leadership Team, providing visibility of project status, performance, and future. This is a key project leadership role, responsible for delivering project objectives and ensuring successful delivery against agreed milestones. Your strong stakeholder management and influencing skills will be vital in this role.
About You
- A seasoned technical leader with tertiary qualifications (degree or advanced diploma) in engineering or a relevant discipline, and over 10 years’ experience delivering large capital and infrastructure projects
- Proven ability to lead both office-based and field project teams, with extensive experience in contract management and stakeholder engagement, and strong communication skills across all levels
- Delivery-focused and highly self-motivated, with a track record of achieving results within tight project schedules
Strong negotiation skills, with the ability to influence and achieve win-win outcomes with external partners - Demonstrated ability to prioritise and manage multiple tasks and projects in a dynamic environment.
